The Savannah State University College of Engineering Technology and Computing Outreach & Career Development Office (CETC O&CD) strengthens undergraduate student services by expanding access to active learning, professional development, scholarly engagement, and career preparation opportunities.

Through collaboration with CETC student organizations, faculty advisors, academic departments, campus partners, employers, and alumni, the Office connects students with resources and experiences that support academic persistence and successful transitions into internships, graduate education, and STEM careers.

Faculty advisors of CETC clubs and organizations provide guidance to help identify and coordinate:

• Employer and alumni engagement
• Professional networking and mentoring
• STEM competitions and scholarly activities
• Leadership and student-organization development

K–12 STEM Outreach

CETC O&CD also provides K–12 students with early exposure to Savannah State University’s STEM programs, careers, competitions, and scholarly opportunities. These initiatives help strengthen educational pathways into CETC programs while contributing to the University’s institutional capacity, student recruitment and persistence, community engagement, and reputation.

The Savannah State University College of Engineering Technology and Computing Outreach & Career Development Office (CETC O&CD) maintains regional leadership in STEM outreach by identifying, engaging, and registering K–16 students and educators as program participants. Through these efforts, participants receive early exposure to Savannah State University’s STEM academic programs, educational resources, scholarly activities, competitions, and career pathways.

The STEM Success Center operates through the Outreach & Career Development Office in Savannah State University’s College of Engineering Technology and Computing. The Center provides academic, professional-development, and outreach opportunities designed to support CETC students and other Savannah State University students pursuing STEM-related interests and career pathways.

Programs and services may include:

• Academic-support and student-success activities
• Career-readiness and professional-development workshops
• Peer engagement and mentoring
• Employer, alumni, and community-partner presentations
• Volunteer and community-service opportunities
• STEM outreach for K–12 students
• Experiential learning, internships, and research resources

Community and Campus Partnerships

Faculty, employers, alumni, community organizations, and other professionals are invited to collaborate with the STEM Success Center by presenting workshops, supporting outreach activities, mentoring students, or sharing educational and career opportunities.

Student Opportunities

Students may participate in STEM Success Center programs, workshops, outreach activities, and other opportunities announced throughout the academic year. Current registration information and event announcements will be posted as they become available.

  The CETC Outreach & Career Development Office no longer has the Title III-funded staffing previously available to support community outreach requests. The Office currently operates without a full-time outreach staff; therefore, requests are reviewed by Director Patrick Dean and accommodated based on availability, existing commitments, available resources, and alignment with CETC priorities.

  Include the organization’s contact information, requested date and location, audience, anticipated attendance, requested activity, required resources, and response deadline. Submission does not guarantee availability or participation.
