Savannah State University offers an On-Campus Shuttle & Trolley service to help students, faculty, and staff easily navigate the campus

Savannah State University offers an On-Campus Shuttle & Trolley service to help students, faculty, and staff easily navigate the campus. In addition, the Chatham Area Transit (CAT) provides convenient routes around campus, connecting the university to key locations in the Savannah area. As part of the CAT Zero-Fare Pilot Program, all rides are currently free, making transportation both accessible and affordable for the university community.

On-Campus Shuttle (Route 80)

The on-campus Shuttle runs from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, on class days in the semester. Please allow 20-30 minutes during the time there is one shuttle, depending on weather and traffic on campus. Please read your campus e-mail for updates on outages or major delays.

Livingston Avenue Shuttle (Route 80L)

This shuttle runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the semester. The route goes from the Student Union to the Marine Sciences building on Livingston Ave, and returns by coming down Jasmine Ave. There are stops near a connection with Route 31, as well as at 500 Jasmine Ave.

CAT Routes Near Campus

CAT routes 31 and 12 both stop near Savannah State University, providing convenient access to downtown Savannah, shopping centers, and other major destinations in the area.

CAT Zero-Fare Pilot Program

Starting January 2024, CAT is implementing a Zero Fare Program for all students in Chatham County. This is for fixed routes only. With this program, students can show their CAT Bus Pass or SSU ID Card to the CAT bus operator for free entry. Students can pickup their CAT Bus Pass at CAT's Student Service Office.
