Green’s career began while she was a student at SSU under the mentorship of Mrs. Jerrie Huewitt, a former Savannah State University financial aid counselor and director. That mentorship led to Green’s first professional role in the Office of Financial Aid at Georgia Piedmont Technical College under Huewitt’s leadership.

“I am honored to serve as Financial Aid Director at Savannah State University,” said Green. “My early foundation at SSU instilled in me a student-centered approach and a deep commitment to the profession. Savannah State University laid the foundation for who I am today. Returning to this role is both an honor and a responsibility. I am committed to ensuring that every student has access to the resources, guidance, and support needed to succeed.”

Throughout her career, Green has been a vocal advocate for expanding educational opportunities. She has held leadership roles at the institutional, state, and regional levels, notably serving as President of the Louisiana Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. Her expertise spans technical operations, regulatory compliance, and cross-departmental collaboration aimed at increasing student persistence.

“My goal is to remove barriers, empower families with knowledge, and ensure every student has a clear pathway to enrollment, persistence, and graduation,” Green added.

“I would like to congratulate Ms. Green on her new appointment as director of financial aid,” said Dr. Terrance Dixon, vice president for Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and Marketing. “It is a true joy to welcome back one of our own Tigers to serve our student community. Between her deep professional expertise and her perspective as a graduate, Ms. Green is uniquely positioned for this vital role.”

Green is a Diamond Life member of the Savannah State University National Alumni Association (SSUNAA) and a chartering member of the SSUNAA Texas Chapter, where she supports alumni engagement, student recruitment, and HBCU advocacy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Savannah State University.
