The cost for the English Language Institute (ELI) 8-Week Sessions is listed below, covering session costs and associated fees. Additional costs, such as F-1 visa application fees and book expenses (estimated $160.00), are not included in this total and will vary based on individual circumstances and program requirements.

• ELI Course Fee – US$1,700.00
• Program Fees – US$241.00
• F-1 visa students: Health Insurance – US$165.20

English speaking students may pay in their student PAWS account for credit card and American electronic check payments.

The payment deadline is the Friday that the ELI course begins. Courses will be cancelled for non-payment if payment is not received by 5pm that Friday.

If you’re an international student interested in attending Savannah State University, here’s what you need to know:

1. Choose the Right Application

• If you need an F-1 visa, complete the supplemental application (available below).
• If you do not need an I-20, complete the regular admissions application.

2. Prepare Financial Documentation

• Provide proof of sufficient funds to cover at least one year of educational and living expenses.

3. Understand Work and Financial Aid

• On-campus employment is allowed, but positions are limited and will not provide significant financial support.
• International students do not qualify for federal or state financial aid.

4.Search for Scholarships

• International students are strongly encouraged to explore additional scholarship opportunities to support their education.

To apply, send these items:

1. Application
   Complete and print the paper application.
   • F-1 Visa Student application
   • US citizen and legal permanent resident application
     
2. Application Fee
   You can pay the US$100.00 fee electronically through our Touchnet Marketplace or by check (drawn on a U.S. bank of a U.S. Postal money order) that is made payable to Savannah State University.
3. Official Financial Document
   This is only required for students who are seeking an F-1(student) visa to come and study in the United States. Legal permanent residents/US citizens do not need this.
   This document must demonstrate that you or your guarantor have enough money to pay all of your educational and living expenses for at least one academic year. The amount must be more than US$18,589. To be acceptable, the financial document must:
   • be printed on professional letterhead stationery or contain the bank’s official stamp or seal,
   • be signed in ink by a bank official,
   • state the type of currency,
   • state the specific amount that is currently in the account or specifically state the funds on deposit are greater than $__________ U.S. dollars
   • be an original document. Photocopies, faxes and downloaded or scanned documents cannot be accepted. Note: You can also submit a notarized copy of a bank statement containing the above details.
   • be less than six months old

   Additional Notes:

   • If the funds are not in the student’s name, the guarantor must sign the statement on page 2 of the application.
   • If your bank cannot provide a letter in English, the original letter must be submitted along with an official translation.
