Week of Welcome is for all New & Transfer students. You will have the opportunity to get better acquainted with the University, all of its resources and participate in a range of events and programs that will support your learning experience. New Student Week of Welcome is designed to assist first-year (freshman, transfer, commuter) students with the transition to Savannah State’s campus – academically and socially. Workshops and activities scheduled help create an environment for incoming students that will prepare them for academic success and leadership at the university. The model is based on Complete College America and the University System of Georgia’s MOMENTUM APPROACH and GAME CHANGERS. All new students, freshmen and transfer students, are required to attend Week of Welcome activities.
