    Week of Welcome

Whether it’s your first semester or your final year, Week of Welcome is your chance to dive in, show up, and make this year unforgettable.

As we welcome our newest Tigers and reconnect with returning students, this week is all about building community, celebrating tradition, and starting the academic year with momentum. From move-in day memories to campus-wide events, SSU is buzzing with pride, excitement, and opportunity. Join us for Week of Welcome (WOW), the official kick-off to the Fall semester. Week of Welcome is for all New & Transfer students. You will have the opportunity to get better acquainted with the University, all of its resources and participate in a range of events and programs that will support your learning experience. E-mail [email protected] for questions.

New Student Week of Welcome is designed to assist first-year (freshman, transfer, commuter) students with the transition to Savannah State’s campus – academically and socially. Workshops and activities scheduled help create an environment for incoming students that will prepare them for academic success and leadership at the university. The model is based on Complete College America and the University System of Georgia’s MOMENTUM APPROACH and GAME CHANGERS. All new students, freshmen and transfer students, are required to attend Week of Welcome activities.
