The Visual and Performing Arts Program at Savannah State University occupies two buildings on the northwest and northeast corners of campus. The primary location is the J.F. Kennedy Fine Arts Center which houses large spacious studios, Computer and 3D printing lab, rehearsal and practice facilities, and faculty offices.
The Center also houses the Main Theater and Art Gallery as well as a Recital Hall, Choir Rehearsal Hall, Music Production Lab, and 2D and 3D Art Studios. Students and faculty also have access to the Black Box Theater and Dance Studios located in the Wilcox-Wiley Gym, and a Photography Lab located in Hubert Building D. The Black Box Theater is an ideal intimate space for performances.
Other performance and laboratory facilities include the Recital Hall, Band Rehearsal Hall, Choir Rehearsal Hall, Keyboard Studio, Music Theory Lab, Music Production Lab, and Computer Lab completely furnished with Macintosh desktops. Students and faculty also have access to the Black Box Theater located in the Wilcox-Wiley Gym. The Black Box Theater is an ideal intimate space for chamber recitals. Performances also take place in the amphitheater located on The Pavilion in the heart of campus.
