The Center for Professional Excellence

The Center for Professional Excellence (CPE) exists to support the university community in the best practices of engaged professional development for both faculty and staff. The CPE strives to be a place of convenient comfort, creative collaboration, and connected community. Faculty and staff can utilize a wide variety of resources at the center to enhance instruction, engage in career planning, and share challenges.

Mission:
The mission of Savannah State University’s Center for Professional Excellence (CPE) is to facilitate an equitable environment for student excellence by providing faculty and staff with data-informed tools to connect with student voices, maintain modern pedagogy, assess student learning, and provide up-to-date education for the support of student success by staff. The CPE provides adaptive, relevant resources to aid all faculty and staff in meeting the responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service at all stages of the academic career.

Savannah State University’s Center for Professional Excellence seeks to become a vibrant hub for communities of professional excellence, an incubator for teaching innovation, staff engagement, and a critical element in maintaining continuous teaching effectiveness in the face of changes in student populations and job market demands for both SSU and surrounding sister institutions.
