The University System of Georgia allows 13 holidays per year that are recognized and taken off with pay. Some holidays are standardized and others are at the discretion of the institution. The 2025 calendar year holidays are as follows:

* Note: The University will be closed beginning December 22, 2025 through January 1, 2026. December 29th – December 31st are not paid holidays. Benefited staff and 12-month faculty must utilize 8 hours of annual leave each day to be compensated for those days.
This schedule does not apply to areas critical to the safety of the campus, (i.e. Public Safety and certain areas of Facilities and ITS). Also, Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions, University Housing and Student Accounts and Cashiering staff should plan to operate per the instructions received from their respective unit supervisor.
