Join Savannah State University as we officially welcome Torrance Garvin as Chief of Police during a special swearing-in ceremony on Monday, June 22, 2026!
This occasion marks an important milestone for the University and the Department of Public Safety as Chief Garvin formally assumes leadership of the department. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are invited to attend as we celebrate his commitment to service, safety and the continued success of Savannah’s University!
