Students must re-admit if they fall under any of the following categories:
- Student has not attended SSU in more than three semesters (including Summer).
- Student graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and is returning for a second Bachelor’s degree or is a non-degree seeking post baccalaureate student.
- Student was academically suspended in the last semester enrolled at SSU. Please also submit a letter to [email protected] explaining your appeal to return.
To submit your application for readmission, please complete the following steps:
- Login to the READMIT APPLICATION and create an account, then navigate to the readmit application for the specific term you plan to return to SSU.
- Submit your official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities. Please have your official transcript sent to [email protected].
- Verification of Lawful Presence: In accordance with Board of Regents Policy 4.3.4, applicants who are admitted to Savannah State University and who are applying for resident tuition status are required to provide validation of their lawful presence in the United States.Students may submit a copy of one of the following:
- Current Driver’s License/ID issued by the State of Georgia after January 1, 2008. A limited term license/ID or a license/ID issued for a period of less than two years is not acceptable.
- Current Driver’s License/ID issued by any of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. A limited term license/ID or a license/ID issued for a period of less than two years is not acceptable.
- Certified U.S. Birth Certificate showing the student was born in the U.S. or a U.S. territory. A photocopy provided by the student is not acceptable.
- U.S. Certificate of Naturalization (USCIS form N-550 or N-570).
- U.S. Certificate of Citizenship (USCIS form N-560 or N-561).
- U.S. Certificate of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State (DS-1350) or a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (FS-240).
- Current U.S. Passport.
- Current military ID (service member only, not dependent). Photocopies are not accepted. The original card can be brought in to the Registrar’s or Admission’s Office to be documented.
- Current, valid Permanent Resident Card (USCIS form I-151 or I-551)
