Savannah State University is committed to meeting the social, psychological, spiritual and physical needs of it’s students through integrated and diverse programs and services that challenge and support the development of life skills. The resources of the Division of Student Affairs are utilized to facilitate the learning process of students both inside and outside of the classroom and to achieve the University’s goal of developing the whole person.
The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to help the students recognize, understand, and appreciate out-of-classroom experiences that will provide a holistic educational experience. The quality of student life, however, depends on the extent to which students take advantage of what the University offers for their personal learning and social enrichment.
Office of the Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students provides students with assistance and support throughout their matriculation at the university. In collaboration with offices and departments across campus, we are able to bring a range of expertise to effectively respond to individual student needs and challenges. We are committed to providing students with relevant resources, services and advice regarding their evolving academic, personal and social interests and goals.
When do students need to see the Dean? Student can come speak with me when they have a significant problem that they need assistance resolving. This can include personal or interpersonal issues, family and financial problems, or communication problems with faculty or staff on campus. Each student can expect to be listened to and receive appropriate advice to work towards resolution.
My staff and I look forward to working with the entire campus community throughout the academic year.
