Physical Plant
Maintenance
The maintenance division of Physical Plant oversees the daily maintenance of campus facilities, all systems, and warehouse inventory management. Requests for routine services, such as electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, should be submitted through the online work order program. This system enables Physical Plant to respond promptly to service requests while providing customers a way to track and monitor service quality.
The maintenance division performs services necessary to maintain the campus facilities and performs small renovations or remodeling projects.
Building Maintenance
The Building Maintenance division handles painting, carpentry, electrical work, small renovations, minor roof repairs, and event support, while larger projects are outsourced to local contractors.

Key / Locksmith
Savannah State University’s key and locksmith services manage the campus’s locking systems, ensuring secure access and supporting key requests and equipment repairs. (Card Access is managed by Auxiliary Services)

Mechanical Maintenance
The Mechanical Maintenance division oversees HVAC systems, plumbing, and general mechanical maintenance, including chillers, motors, air handlers, and utility distribution, while managing the campus’s energy systems.
Custodial Services
Custodial Services maintains academic, administrative, sports, and residential spaces across 1.2 million square feet, with two main shifts and limited weekend coverage, while also managing floors, carpets, and event support.
Maintenance and Facilities Request
If you have a need for maintenance, a key request, event setup or custodial service please notify us through our Facilities Service Request. Requests are consistently collected throughout the day and routed to the appropriate staff member for resolution. We always try to address every issue as quickly as possible, but we do prioritize based on the type and severity of issues reported.
