Institutional Assessment Guide
The Institutional Assessment Guide at SSU functions as a guidepost to lead the processes of assessment for both academic programs and supporting units.
Assessment is a tool to determine the effectiveness of the university’s institutional practices, with outcomes focused on how well students are learning and how well administrative (supporting) units are functioning. Assessment delineates the level at which academic programs and supporting units have achieved the outcomes.
To accomplish these goals, the university has established an ongoing, cyclical pattern assessment model that collects and analyzes data from a variety of assessment tools. This is done to demonstrate and document whether or not the institutional priorities (goal and objectives), academic program student learning outcomes and supporting units’ objectives have been met or not.
Moreover, it validates whether SSU remains in compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation standards. These strategies must seek continuous improvements and refinements in order to better service SSU students.
This guide includes SSU’s Reaffirmation of Accreditation Important Dates and Anticipated Reaffirmation Timeline, the Institutional Effectiveness Planning Cycle Model, the University’s Assessment Calendar and other important information.
