Outreach to Local Schools and Teaching Experiences

The SSU Marine Science Department participates in marine education and outreach throughout the Savannah area and surrounding cities through community events, local school visits, and Coast Camp. SSU Marine Science students have the opportunity to reinforce their scientific knowledge by teaching younger students at outreach events. Graduate and Undergraduate students are trained in science communication through our outreach activities with community partners.
