Biology
The biology program provides instruction and hands-on training in life sciences. A broad range of course materials emphasizing critical thinking will be cultivated by involvement in investigative techniques ranging from laboratory experiments to individual research projects. Graduates can pursue careers in research, education, biomedicine, biotechnology and more.
Laboratories & Classrooms
The biology program is housed in several buildings on campus, with the main components residing in the Drew-Griffith building at the southwest end of campus, which houses specialized labs for biotechnology, environmental science and physiology, where faculty members, research associates and students are engaged in ongoing research.

Electives
These courses, listed in the table below, are the courses from which the minimum of fifteen credit hours must be chosen. This applies to all students seeking to earn the bachelor of science degree in biology. Most courses are three credit hours for lecture. Laboratories (when offered) are for one credit hour with one three-hour meeting per week. There is a limited choice for one of the electives – One course must be chosen from the first four courses listed.
