Target Population

The program will focus on academically motivated students attending the Savannah Chatham County Public School System. A minimum of 240 students from 6^th grade to 9^th grade will be selected. 30 teams of four students from middle-school (6^th to 8^th grade), and 30 teams of four students each from 9^th grade in high school. Below is the breakdown of the target population per the grade. Preference will be given to underserved/underrepresented students, kids with parents having military background. However, any student is welcome to apply and be part of this project. Every High School in SCCPSS (9^th grade students only) can participate, additionally Bartlett STEM Academy, Oglethorpe Charter School, and Coastal Middle schools will have students from 6^th through 8^th grade.

• Category I- 6^th grade-two teams (minimum10 teams - 4 students per team)
• Category II -7^th grade- two teams (10 teams - 4 students per team)
• Category III- 8^th grade – two teams (10 teams - 4 students per team)
• Category IV – 9^th grade – two teams (30 teams - 4 students per team)
