On October 26, 2020 at our Student Union, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia launched the search process for a new President for Savannah State University. Two committees were formed to lead the search process:

A Presidential Search and Screen Committee, made up of 15 representatives from Savannah State University’s administration, faculty, students, staff, alums, and community representatives, will develop a position description, recruit, interview, and assess candidates. The search committee will then recommend three to five unranked candidates to the Regents Special Committee (six members)The Chancellor and Special Regents Committee will interview these candidates and recommend a finalist or finalists to the Board of Regents.

Monroe “Bud” Moseley, Donna Cramer, Afi Tettey-Fio, and Marianna McMurdock of the search firm Isaacson, Miller (www.imsearch.com) have been engaged to assist in this process.

This website has been crafted to inform and provide updates to the Savannah State University community, on campus and beyond, regarding the Presidential search process. This site contains information about the search process and timeline and committee members,  as well as information on how to apply or nominate candidates. In the “Community Feedback” section of this site, you’ll find a survey to share your opinions about the opportunities and challenges the next President must address to advance the University in coming years. A position description will also be added to this site upon its completion.
