The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIDS) Degree Program offers learning in a broad range of subject areas across the colleges and majors in the university leading to a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIDS) degree. Students in the BIDS program choose from three concentrations:

Additionally, students who meet the College of Education’s admission requirements and are accepted in the COE preparation programs, may apply for the $4,000 TEACH Grant.
TRiO programs at Savannah State University include three programs: Educational Talent Search, Student Support Services and Upward Bound. These programs are designed to primarily serve low-income individuals, first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities from middle school through their post-secondary programs with academic support, guidance and opportunities to participate in educational and enrichment activities.
GEAR UP and Gear Up Georgia Programs at Savannah State University include two programs that work in collaboration with the Savannah-Chatham Country Public School System (SCCPSS). GEAR UP are discretionary grant programs designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. GEAR UP provides six-year grants to states and partnerships to provide services at high-poverty middle and high schools. GEAR UP serves a cohort of students beginning no later than the seventh grade and follows the cohort through high school and into their first year of post-secondary education.
