Degree offered: Bachelor of Fine Arts (Concentration in Studio Art)
The Fine Arts Program offers interdisciplinary courses leading to the baccalaureate degree (BFA) in the Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in Studio Art.
Visual and Performing Arts majors in the studio art concentration will participate in a variety of activities and events in and out of the classroom as part of the BFA program experience. Students are expected to spend additional hours outside of class requirements honing their skills through practice studio work. Throughout their matriculation, students will receive verbal, written, and peer critiques of their work.
As appropriate to their area of concentration, students are required to participate in program-sponsored music ensembles, theatre and dance productions, and art exhibitions. As part of their capstone experience, seniors in the Visual and Performing Arts program are required to organize and present their work in the form of a senior thesis exhibition.

- Books, Paper, and Print (Printmaking)

The Visual and Performing Arts BFA provides an interdisciplinary approach to the arts where concentrations can enroll in courses in other disciplines in the arts to enhance their studies. Some courses that offer a unique perspective on the Visual Arts are:

- Make up and Costumes
- Music Production
- Forensic Photography

The Visual and Performing Arts Program at Savannah State University occupies two buildings on the northwest and northeast corners of campus. The primary location is the J. F. Kennedy Fine Arts Center which houses large spacious studios. The center is also home to the Main Gallery. Here are our facilities that cater to visual art:
