Our Performing Arts curriculum is the only of its kind in the coastal empire. Savannah State University offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in performing arts . This degree provides a unique interdisciplinary approach to learning. We offer high quality instruction and exposure to professional performing arts opportunities including acting and dance performance, directing, design, state management, and choreography.
Our students exhibit professionalism and creativity in their many innovative performances and exhibitions, on campus, in the community and internationally. Savannah State's faculty is talented, diverse, and dedicated to the creative, technical and professional development of our young artists. The curriculum is rigorous and supports our students to envision and attain their professional and artistic goals.

The Visual and Performing Arts Program at Savannah State University occupies two buildings on the northwest and northeast corners of campus. The primary location is the J.F. Kennedy Fine Arts Center which houses large spacious studios, rehearsal and practice facilities, and faculty offices.
Students and faculty also have access to the Black Box Theater and Dance Studios located in the Wilcox-Wiley Gym. The Black Box Theater is an ideal intimate space for performances. Here is a listing of the Theatre and Dance Facilities:
