Located in the coastal city of Savannah, Georgia, Savannah State University (SSU) is a senior co-educational unit of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1890, the University is located on a beautiful 173-acre tract adjacent to a salt-marsh estuary and is approximately five miles from the largest National Historic Landmark District in the U.S. The residential campus is approximately 10 minutes from the downtown historic district and 20 minutes from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Master of Science in Marine Sciences (MSMS) program is the only one of its kind in Southeast Georgia with direct access to estuarine, coastal and open-ocean research environments. The Master of Business Administration program is an AACSB International accredited program, the Master of Social Work (MSW) is accredited by CSWE and the Master of Public Administration (MPA) is accredited by (NASPAA). Savannah State University is also a member of the Southern Association of Colleges Schools.
Graduate students have the opportunity to make an original and lasting contribution to their chosen discipline. Students have published in international journals, and presented at national and international meetings. Together with faculty, graduate students create an academic legacy that will follow them for years.
